Four-time Juno Award winners Our Lady Peace presented by Rock 97.9 FM will hit the outdoor stage at MacDonald Island Park on Friday September 13, returning to Fort McMurray after their wildly successful sold-out show in 2011.
The Our Lady Peace concert kicks off the City Centre McMurray Half Marathon weekend, which will will culminate with a community barbeque and family-related activities at MacDonald Island Park, including a free outdoor performance from Juno Award winners Sloan presented by Rock 97.9 FM, on Sunday September 15.
Our Lady Peace has steadily built an international following since the release of their debut album in 1994 and they continue to attract audiences from around the world with their alt-rock style and dynamic stage performances. With songs like “Superman’s Dead”, “Innocent”, and “Heavyweight” they have been a Canadian music scene mainstay for almost two decades.
“Our Lady Peace always brings down the house,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “Their energy, enthusiasm, and talent energize the crowd, and I know they will have the same effect when they return to a warm welcome as we kick off the City Centre McMurray Half Marathon weekend.”
All tickets for Our Lady Peace are General Admission and go on sale Friday, July 5 at 10:00 am through the MacDonald Island Park Box Office located on the first floor of the Suncor Community Leisure Centre or at macdonaldisland.ca. Tickets are $59 plus applicable taxes and fees.
