RCMP investigate robbery

Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating the robbery of a cab driver that occurred early Thursday morning, August 8th, 2013 between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of Richard Street and Manning Avenue in Fort McMurray.

Two males waved down the taxi where an altercation took place and the driver was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. Both males then fled on foot towards a condominium complex under construction on Manning Avenue.

One male is described as being in his mid to late 20’s, African descent, average build and wearing a green shirt with possible earring in one of his ears. The second male is described as being in his mid 20’s, short, aboriginal, average build, red or brown hair and wearing a red shirt.

The taxi driver sustained minor injuries as a result of the robbery. He was treated and released from Hospital.
