Western Canada Summer Games 2015 launches youth mascot naming competition

Mascot PosterFINALThe Western Canada Summer Games 2015 Wood Buffalo is pleased to announce a youth competition to “Name our Mascot” which will be open to the public on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.

“The official Games Mascot is always an important and iconic component to the excitement surrounding and leading up to the Games and we want the names to be fun and represent the culture and history of our amazing community,” said Kim Rizzi, General Manager, 2015 WCSG. “We’re looking forward to having the young people from our region get involved and be a part of the Games in such a memorable way.”

Entries for the contest will only be accepted via the online form available at www.2015woodbuffalo.com/contest. The contest will be open to children between the age of four to 17 years of age and entries will be accepted until May 18, 2014. The entrants must reside and go to school in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

The grand prize winner will receive a $250 shopping spree at the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games boutique to help them show their pride and promote the Games. The winner will also be given recognition at a public event hosted by the 2015 Wood Buffalo Western Canada Summer Games.
