Hello and welcome to the Aurora Kid where I interview various kids around the region who are doing great things for others or for animals at the SPCA! In today’s edition, I interviewed 6-year-old Anna Hiscock who is a student at St. Anne’s Elementary School. She partakes in many things at her school including Sparks, Piano, Gymnastics, and Swimming.
Around town, Anna volunteers her time for organizations such as the MS Society and the Soup Kitchen. Anna thinks kids like us should get involved in the community because it is important to help people in need.
A few weeks ago, Anna and her father’s team walked a few laps downtown starting and ending at A&W. On the MS Society website, it had listed that Anna was the top funder in Fort McMurray for the MS Walk. She raised around $3700 dollars for the event. For those who don’t know Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory disease in which the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged. She was inspired by her Dad (who also has MS) and other people with MS to start the walk and she will do it each year of her life.
Thank you for reading this edition of Aurora Kid! If you have any suggestions who should be next, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or PM me on twitter @thelegofly.
