RCMP Investigate Fatal ATV Crash

On Tuesday, April 28th,  2015 at approximately 9:50pm, Wood Buffalo RCMP and Emergency Services responded to a report of an all-terrain vehicle crash in the Saprae Creek area southeast of Fort McMurray where a 57 year old man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Initial investigation determined the deceased was operating his ATV with friends and was in the process of assisting another ATV that was stuck. The deceased lost control of his ATV going down a hill and went over the handle bars. His ATV landed on him resulting in serious head trauma.  He was not wearing a helmet. The deceased resided in the community not far from the incident.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash however Wood Buffalo RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate.

The identity of the deceased is not being released as notification of next of kin continues.
