The vacant buildings at 10020 Biggs Avenue are slated for demolition beginning in late June and concluding in July.
Crews will install safety fencing around the site today and will spend the next month removing materials. The demolition is slated to begin on June 25 but is subject to change.
The building contains hazardous materials including asbestos. To ensure the safety of residents and adjacent businesses, safe work procedures will be followed that include continual air monitoring throughout the demolition. Materials will be disposed of safely in accordance with provincial standards.
The demolition won’t affect traffic. The contractor will apply a rough grade to the lot once the demolition is complete.
