UPDATE – RCMP Investigate Report of Gunshots

On May 12, 2015, at approximately 9:30am, Wood Buffalo RCMP was called to The Morrison Center at 9914 Morrison Street, Fort McMurray in response to shots fired.


Morrison Center shooter suspect view3The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 30 and 40, wearing a two-toned, blue North Face jacket and black pants. 


Police are asking the public’s assistance in identifying this man.


No other information will be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of this ongoing investigation.

Wood Buffalo RCMP is currently on scene at the Morrison Building situated at 9914 Morrison Street in Fort McMurray. At approximately 9:30 am today, police responded to a report of possible gunshots inside the Morrison Building. The investigation is in the early stages and is continuing however RCMP can confirm no one has been injured.

The public is asked to avoid the area at this time to ensure public safety and to allow police to continue the investigation. A further release will be issued as information becomes available.
