On Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015 at approximately 5:43 AM, Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to an incident on Richard Street where a 32 year old Fort McMurray man was located and appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound to his body. The man remains in hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Police are seeking assistance from the public in solving this crime and asking anyone with information to please contact Wood Buffalo RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
The investigation into this matter is continuing. Further updates will be issued as information becomes available.

Wood Buffalo RCMP has entered into a criminal investigation resulting from an incident on Richard Street in Fort McMurray where a Fort McMurray man has been injured. The incident was reported to police at approximately 5:43 AM today.
The man has been taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment. In order to protect the integrity of the investigation, no further information is being released. Further information into this incident will be released as it becomes available however, an update release is anticipated for tomorrow morning.
Wood Buffalo RCMP is advising this is not a random incident and there does not appear to any risk to public safety.
