The United Way of Fort McMurray’s Board of Directors announced Tony Mankowski as their new President in a unanimous vote on April 19.

“I’m excited to contribute to this organization that does such important work in the community,” stated Mankowski, who has 30 years of experience in the energy business – most recently as the Vice President of Operations, Oil Sands with Nexen.

Past President Ben Dutton also stated, “Tony’s experience in the community and in senior leadership positions with oil sands make him an ideal choice to lead United Way. I’ve enjoyed my tenure as President and the opportunity to work with a dedicated group of people focused on meeting community needs.”

Dutton took over the role in 2013, after the passing of Barb Jewers. He will remain on the board as past President. Colin Hartigan was also confirmed at the meeting as the 2016 Community Campaign Chair and Steve Yatauro as Vice Campaign Chair, which will begin at the Community Building Awards on May 25.
