Over 400 local families will have a brighter Christmas thanks to High River residents Helga and Terry Lempriere.
Shell Place was turned into a distribution centre on November 2 for residents to come collect thousands of donated holiday decorations through the Lempriere’s “Christmas for Fort McMurray” fundraiser.
“Terry and I would like to thank the people of Fort McMurray for such a warm welcome! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were among family. The tears, the hugs and expressions of gratefulness left us feeling overwhelmed and humbled. We feel honored to have been able to bring hope and expectation to so many fearful, hurting hearts through the donation of Christmas ornaments, decor and trees,” stated Helga Lempriere in a release.
